We conduct personal responsibility classes and workplace preparedness training that foster positive growth. We facilitate a peer mentoring program that allows members who have progressed through our initiatives to lead by example

PWI Newsletter for January

In December, our awesome Members participated in their annual Christmas caroling Fun Friday! They picked some classic tunes, including “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer” and “Jingle Bell Rock”. Members had a blast spreading holiday cheer to the local businesses. We’re already looking forward to next year! After caroling, Members got to whip up some delicious hot chocolate and have fun decorating their very own Christmas cookies! Additionally, LINKS hosted their annual Christmas party at the Fitness Farm, where everyone enjoyed a fantastic night filled with games, dancing, and delicious food. Thank you for joining us; we look forward to seeing you again next year!

PWI Newsletter for February

In January, our Members had a blast focusing on team building! One of the highlights was an exciting lesson where Members were blindfolded and had to rely on their teammates’ cues to navigate through an obstacle course. It was a fun way to enhance their communication skills, all while working together! To make things even more interesting, our staff added some playful distractions, like cotton balls flying through the air and music playing during instructions, mimicking the distractions we often face in the workplace.

PWI Newsletter for March

In February, LINKS observed Black History Month by encouraging Members to engage in a daily icebreaker activity that highlighted significant figures in black history. Additionally, Members were provided the opportunity to select a prominent black individual relevant to their career interests and prepare a presentation on their contributions. Staff assisted Members in identifying their chosen profession and a black figure who has made an impact in it. From that they created their informative posters using Canva, utilixing the computer skills taught in previous lessons. Some topics explored included the first black professional football player and the first black president.
